and it really is that simple
I originally started taking part in post crossing about a decade ago! through out collage and uni I would send and receive postcards from all over the world.
but as life often does, it got in the way and my participation dwindled down to nothing, i forgot about postcrossing all together until i started to get back into penpaling again a couple of years ago
and I was delighted to find that Post crossing was still going and thriving
so i signed on back up and sent out my first 5 post cards
when you first sign up you need to send out your postcards first
when you first start you are limited to 5 postcards traving at one time
when your 1st postcard gets registared as having been received your profile is entered into the request pool and very soon a postcard will be back on its way to you from somewhere random in the world
when you have successfully sent out 5 postcards you get issued one extra slot of postcatds you can send out and then another when you hit 15 postcards sent
after 15 you get one new slot per 10 cards sent
maxing out at 100 postcards traving at one time!
within days my first postcard had been received and I egerly awaited my first postcard in return
one of the satisfying things about postcrossing is it is a hobby that fosters paitence
but before long my first postcard had arrived
members can send you any kind of postcard they want but many try to match what they send to the vibes of the profile (though this is not mandatory at all)
this card was an instant favourite for me!
